Asa Vermette Asa Vermette (born January 24, 2007) is an American professional downhill mountain bike racer from Durango, Colorado. He gained international recognition after winning the 2024 UCI Junior Men's Downhill World Championship and has been regarded as one of the most promising young talents in the sport. USA Cycling
Early Life Vermette was born and raised in Durango, Colorado. He began riding a balance bike at the age of two and transitioned to motocross by four. His parents, Josh and Jonelle, introduced him to various forms of cycling, including BMX and mountain biking. He started racing mountain bikes competitively in 2018 and was homeschooled from sixth grade to accommodate his training and travel schedule. Durango Herald Mountain Bike Action Magazine
Career In 2023, Vermette turned professional and joined Frameworks Racing, a team founded by World Cup racer Neko Mulally.
